Sahaita provides opportunity and resources to needy children and the elderly regardless of their status, background, or religion.  They organize charitable clinics to provide health education and immunizations in California and India.  Sahaita also helps by providing shelters, educational tools and fund for the poor, disabled and less fortunate.

Dr. Sandhu gave a very touching PowerPoint presentation to inform the audience about the various projects Sahaita is implementing in California and Northern India.  Kashmir Singh also gave a motivational speech to encourage every to open their heart and soul to donate for this noble and worthy cause.  The message and mission of Sahaita truly inspired those in attendance bringing the total donation amount to an impressive $35,000.

There were about 200 people in attendance at this fundraising event. Among the attendees were: Yuba City Mayor Rory Ramirez, Vice Mayor Kash Gill, Councilman Tej Singh Mann, and Sutter County Supervisor Jim Whitaker.  Punjabi appetizers and dinner were served.  The Punjabi American Heritage Society would like to express our whole-hearted appreciation to all those that took time out of their very busy lives to show their support and donating to the Sahaita. The Punjabi American Heritage Society (non profit) was founded in 1993 with the purpose of promoting friendship and understanding with other communities and helping our younger generation getting connected to their roots.

An event organized by Punjabi American Heritage Society (PAHS) of Yuba City to help recent quake victims in Kashmir netted close to $ 9000. The event was organized at Star of India restaurant on October 20, 2005. Event started with 20 minutes documentary about spirit of Seva (selfless service). It sat the tone of evening. People were given the choice to make direct donations to organization of their preference.


    United Sikhs a US based non profit organization based on the concept of Bhai Ghaniya (serve the needy irrespective of their religion, race or nationality etc) is currently helping the quake victims in India and Pakistan. Jatinder Singh, a regional director of United Sikhs made a power point presentation and made a passionate plea to the audience to support the United Sikhs in rebuilding over 100 homes in Barmula area in Kashmir. Most donations were made to United Sikhs and some guests chose to write checks to American Red Cross. Refreshments were provided by PAHS to all the guests. PAHS is a non profit organization founded in 1993. Last month it raised over $23000 for Katrina hurricane victims.

PAHS sponsored Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims netted $21000

September 8th, 2005 Yuba City, California: Fundraising event organized by Punjabi American Heritage Society (PAHS) raised $21000 and more donations are still coming. All proceeds from this event will be given to local Chapter of American Red Cross. Local restaurant City Café hosted this event and provided free appetizers to all the guests. All guests were entertained by Bottom River Musical band. Event was attended by about one hundred guests. Guests included Americans of all backgrounds. Individual Donations ranged from $5 to $3200. Mrs. Siri Pritam Kaur Khalsa, President, of PAHS thanked all donors and guests for their generosity. Martha Grieve CEO of American Red Cross thanked Punjabi American Society for organizing this event. PAHS also donated $500 to Mr. John Black, radio host of KUBA, local radio station. He is driving Truck load of supplies to Houston to help displaced victims of hurricane. More donations are welcome. Punjabi American Heritage Society was founded in 1993 with the purpose of building bridges with other Americans and connecting our children to their Punjabi roots.
