community efforts help raise 21,000 Dollars plus for Hurricane
victims

sponsored Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims netted $21000
Mrs Khalsa and Martha GRIESA of American Red Cross
September 8th, 2005 Yuba City, California: Fundraising event
organized by Punjabi American Heritage Society (PAHS) raised
$21000 and more donations are still coming. All proceeds
from this event will be given to local Chapter of American
Red Cross. Local restaurant City Café hosted this event and
provided free appetizers to all the guests. All guests were
entertained by Bottom River Musical band. Event was attended
by about one hundred guests. Guests included Americans of
all backgrounds. Individual Donations ranged from $5 to
$3200. Mrs. Siri Pritam Kaur Khalsa, President, of PAHS
thanked all donors and guests for their generosity. Martha
Grieve CEO of American Red Cross thanked Punjabi American
Society for organizing this event. PAHS also donated $500 to
Mr. John Black, radio host of KUBA, local radio station. He
is driving Truck load of supplies to Houston to help
displaced victims of hurricane. More donations are welcome.
Punjabi American Heritage Society was founded in 1993 with
the purpose of building bridges with other Americans and
connecting our children to their Punjabi roots.
